I grew up in NWI, but found myself in Chicago in 2013 attending college. After nearly a decade of not knowing exactly what I wanted to do with my life, I took the plunge and started barber school. I have always been a fan of traditional American culture, and this felt like the right move. I messaged Pete’s on instagram for some advice and found myself at the shop every weekend for nearly a year. Now I am grateful to be on the team. When I’m not around the shop I’m playing music in one of my bands, probably.

Living in the Chicago land area all my life I’ve grown to love this city and the people in it. I’m a huge music/ concert fan, the one other place you can find me in my comfort zone besides doing hair. I’ve been doing hair since 2011; I started my career with cosmetology. Then almost 8 years into my career I realized I needed more, to follow my ultimate goal, to specialize in men’s grooming. I went back to school to get my barbering license. While in school, Pete’s followed me on Instagram, that turned into likes on hair photos I posted, which then turned into words of a encouragement. Those simple gestures on social media lead me here. I awkwardly kept a close eye on the shop for about 2 years to the point where I decided I had nothing else to lose but slide into the shops DMs. 10 years into my career, still awkward but finally accepted I’ve reached my ultimate goal, of being somewhere I can make people feel good about themselves, to continue to learn and grow, while being made fun of all under the same roof.

Born and raised in South Florida, I moved to the Chicago in the winter of ‘14. I Stumbled into Pete’s looking for a job in spring of ‘16 and the rest is history! I specialize in traditional haircuts and beard trims. When I’m not chopping mops you can find me these days either playing with my synthesizer, sitting on the couch with my Frenchie, or taking care of my overwhelming amount of houseplants.

Many people have asked what path led a union painter to own a no nonsense, quality barber shop in this town. I spent four years training under a master barber, finished barber college and am proud to carry on the craft he taught me. Being in the trades I learned to pay my dues, and I have. I opened Pete’s, June 7th, 2011, because I knew that if I filled this space with the things I love: music, films, comics, sick and twisted dark humor, B.S. sessions. As a bonus, I enjoy teaching customers how to maintain a professional groomed look.
